WINTER TRAINING
Alan Harrison, 11 January 2010 00:05
Pre-season training got under way today at trent bridge and
would like to thank the brave half dozen who were able to make
it.
NETS - every Sun 1pm -2pm (T. Bridge - Woodhead Hall)
SKILLS/FITNESS TRAINING - every weds 7pm - 8.45pm (W. Bridgford
Comp - Sports Hall)
I am a little disappointed with the response generally from
members though! I appreciate that the weather conditions have
been less than summery and that people are doing other things
during the winter. I emailed/texted as many members
as i could asking if they could confirm whether they
could make sunday nets or weds fitness/skills training, but
as yet i have received very few reponses. I don't mind
if you cannot make it, but at the moment we have 2 nets booked
on a sunday and need more than 6 people to make it economically
viable. If we are not going to get any increase in numbers, then i
will cancel one of the nets and save some money.
Also, i am wondering whether the weds nite training at WB Comp
is worthwhile, as very few people have confirmed they will be
attending. I have not confirmed the booking as yet, but was
going to contact them on monday. At the moment, i am
seriously considering cancelling it, as it can only go ahead if we
get about 10 people each week.
If you are likely to attend either training session could you
let me know asap, so that i can confirm the bookings. Also,
we are trying to improve the structure of our training and we are
hoping to get Danny Footitt to assist with coaching, but need
support from members to make this possible.
The only way we are going to improve performance is to
practice.
